Paul Wtorkowski

PW172pxPaul Wtorkowski is The 1 Galleries part-time resident Artist and is extending his portfolio of examples of work to show commissioners of Portraits his capabilities. Working in graphite, his large (A1) Portrait drawings are a wonder to view.

The subtlety of detail and the balance of light and shade he brings to each is remarkable. Paul’s only aid being the original photo (usually from a photo sitting and sketch session) followed by hours of patient application to the blank sheet.

PaulandBeccy(A1 drawings usually take up to three weeks to complete).

His first fully self originated Oil Painting for The 1 Gallery  is “Reclining Female” an image which explores Paul’s passion for capturing the essence of the subject and the interplay of light on both body and interior forms.

Art Directing and arranging the original reference photography in a Yorkshire hotel one fine day in November, was a great experience for Paul.

Paul’s place as an in demand, classically inspired figurative Artist of local and national repute, I feel sure, is guaranteed if his diligent work rate and desire to perfect his art and technique continues at a similar pace to his time spent here in The 1 Gallery.

Portrait Commissions in Oil or Graphite are now being taken.
